Queen Consort Letizia will oversee the conclusion of the15th Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest on Sunday.
The 15th edition of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest came to a grand close with Queen Letizia of Spain presiding over the event held at the iconic La Misericordia venue in Palma de Mallorca.
The event's highlight was the screening of the documentary El canto de las manos, directed by Spanish actress María Valverde, which served as the official closing film of the festival. The documentary marked Valverde's directorial debut.
The festival featured 85 feature films, 20 short films, and one series across competition and premiere sections during its ten-day run from July 25 to August 3, 2025. It also included 18 concerts, 12 conferences, and presentations of ten projects in development as part of its industry program.
Composer Alberto Iglesias was honoured with the Master of Cinema Award for his career. The event also saw a record attendance of over 45,000 in-person visitors. Other authorities from the Balearic Islands, including the President of the Government, Marga Prohens, and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzà, were also present.
The event started at 9:00 PM in the patio of the cultural center of La Misericòrdia, in Palma. The closing gala was a star-studded affair, with composer Alberto Iglesias, actress Maria Valverde, her husband musician Gustavo Dudamel, actors Chino Darín, Carolina Yuste, Rossy de Palma, and Alba Flores, among others, expected to attend.
