Ankara Flushes out PKK Remnants

Four PKK members have given up the ghost, ditching their hideouts in northern Iraq in the past week, as reported by the Defense Ministry spokesperson, Zeki Aktürk, on June 5th. The PKK members surrendered during ongoing military operations, increased border security checks, and search-and-sweep efforts. Additionally, a whopping 112 individuals, including one PKK member, were caught attempting to smuggle themselves across Turkey's borders during the same period. Since January, a staggering 2,447 individuals have been apprehended, and more than 36,000 have been thwarted, with 1,192 being blocked just last week.

War Tunnels Destroyed in Northern Syria

In northern Syria, Turkish forces have been busy demolishing tunnels. Since January 8th, they've demolished a total of 270 kilometers of tunnels – 146 kilometers in the Tel Rifaat region and 124 kilometers in Manbij.

Defense Minister Guler at NATO Meeting

Defense Minister Yaşar Güler had a busy day on June 5th, participating in a NATO meeting with his counterparts while outlining Türkiye's contributions to the alliance and the need for strengthened collective defense capabilities.
