Quarterback Stetson Bennett tosses two touchdown passes and performs impressively, leading the Rams to a 31-21 triumph in the preseason matchup against the Cowboys.

In a preseason showdown, the Los Angeles Rams emerged victorious against the Dallas Cowboys, with Stetson Bennett leading the charge. The final score was 31-21.

Bennett, who passed for 188 yards and two touchdowns, showed his prowess on the field. He went 16 for 24 and found Cody Schrader and Brennan Presley in the end zone. However, the Cowboys' Dallas' Israel Mukuamu managed to intercept one of Bennett's passes, marking a rare highlight for the opposing team.

Joe Milton, the Cowboys' quarterback, also made his debut in the game. He passed for 143 yards and one touchdown before injuring his elbow. Will Grier replaced Milton for the final series and rushed for a touchdown with 2:31 left.

The game marked the head coaching debut for 51-year-old Brian Schottenheimer, who has spent his career as a career assistant coach for teams including USC, the San Diego Chargers, and the St. Louis Rams. CeeDee Lamb, despite being in street clothes, got a penalty in the second quarter due to an official running into him as he strayed into the white paint on the sideline.

Cody Schrader rushed for 59 yards for the Rams, while Jarquez Hunter had 41 yards and Blake Corum added 32 yards. Notably, Corum rushed for short touchdowns on the Rams' first two offensive drives.

As for the Rams' roster, Jimmy Garoppolo remains the backup quarterback behind Matthew Stafford. Stafford's health status is uncertain due to a back injury, which could result in Garoppolo starting if Stafford cannot play. Rams fans and analysts have expressed concern about Garoppolo's ability to sustain success as a starter, noting his struggles under pressure during preseason. However, the Rams' coaching staff rely on him as a veteran option.

Looking ahead, the Rams will have a joint practice with the Chargers on Wednesday before facing their crosstown rivals next Saturday. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have three more practices in Oxnard before heading home to host Baltimore next Saturday.

Weather reports predict a sunny day for the Rams' joint practice with the Chargers, just as sports analysts discuss the impressive performance of Stetson Bennett during the preseason showdown against the Cowboys. His two touchdown passes and 188 passing yards helped secure the Rams' victory against Dallas. American football enthusiasts are keeping a close eye on the injury sustained by Cowboys' quarterback Joe Milton during the game, with the NFL season rapidly approaching. Meanwhile, the Cowboys and Ravens are set to face off, marking the end of the Cowboys' practices in Oxnard before returning home.
