Quadruple Sculls Team of British Women to Compete in Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup for the Initial Time
Great Britain's Women's Quadruple Sculls Make History at Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup
Great Britain's women's quadruple sculls team made their historic debut at the Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup in Rendsburg, Germany, from August 8-10, 2025. The prestigious regatta, known for its challenging races and variety of formats, marked a significant moment as it was the first time a GB women's quadruple sculls crew competed at this traditionally male-dominated event.
The crew consisted of Poppy Baker, fresh from winning gold at the 2025 World Rowing U23 Championships in Poznan; Freya Keto, a GB Rowing Team member; Rebekah Court, a recent finalist in the women’s double sculls at the World University Games; and Heloise Wormleighton, representing Molesey Boat Club.
The team was coached by Pete Sheppard, the GB Rowing Team's Head Coach for the Olympic Pathway, and Sam Sheppard from Oxford Brookes University. In addition to the main 12.7 km race, the crews also competed in two sprint events: the Ergo Cup and the Rowing Sprint Cup.
The Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025, took place along the Kiel Canal, a 12.7 km rowing course renowned for its toughness. The GB Rowing Team was excited to support the race organisers and those that fund the event, aiming to showcase their sport differently over the 12.7 km course.
The GB Rowing Team's men's eight team was also present at the Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup. The men's eight crew included Max Mills, a gold medal winner at the 2025 World University Games, Toby Lassen and Felix Rawlinson, bronze medal winners in the Men's pair at the same event, and Beatrice Argyle, a gold medal winner at the World University Games in the women's eight.
The women's quadruple sculls crew for the GB Rowing Team consisted of Freya Keto, Poppy Baker, Heloise Wormleighton, and Rebekah Court. The men's eight crew included Max Mills, Toby Lassen, Felix Rawlinson, Robbie Prosser, Kai Schlottmann, Jonathon Cameron, George Reed, Levin Graf, and Beatrice Argyle as the cox.
Henry Pearson, Paul Cobbett, and Ben Sheppard provided regatta support for the GB Rowing Team at the Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup. Pete Sheppard served as the Head Coach for the Olympic Pathway of the GB Rowing Team, and Sam Sheppard was a coach affiliated with Oxford Brookes University.
