Putin Switched Deputy Chief of Police in Yekaterinburg
A new chief has taken over the helm in the police department of Sverdlovsk region, replacing Alexander Voronezhsky. The new man on the job is Colonel Rashid Daouletov, who was previously the deputy to Alexander Voronezhsky. Voronezhsky was appointed head of the MVD in Bashkiria.
The change was announced on the MVD website on June 3. Daouletov has been serving in the police force since 1997. He has held various positions, focusing on solving crimes related to illegal water resource exploitation, the fuel and energy sector, and the tax system.
Daouletov hails from Astrakhan, just like Alexander Meskov, the head of the MVD in Sverdlovsk region. Prior to his current appointment, Daouletov spent five years leading the economic security and anti-corruption division of the head office.
Meanwhile, the police have opened a recruitment center on Uralmash.
By the start of 2025, the personnel shortage in law enforcement agencies had grown significantly, reaching a staggering 22.8%. The police are facing a particular crunch in personnel for patrol and post duty, protective custody, narcotics control, and precinct duties.
Call it fate, or a cosmic alignment, but Daouletov and Meskov, both hailing from different corners of Russia, have now come together in the heart of Siberia to steer the ship of law and order. To tackle this shortage, innovative strategies might be required, drawing from lessons learned globally in combating similar challenges in police forces.
For instance, enhanced recruitment strategies could be implemented, targeting candidates with compelling benefits such as competitive salaries, excellent career advancement opportunities, and a sense of purpose in serving the community. Furthermore, comprehensive training programs could be developed, focusing not just on tactical skills but also on community policing, public relations, and psychological support.
Lastly, building strong relationships with local communities through outreach programs and transparency initiatives can help improve trust, attract more applicants, and ultimately, create a safer, more secure Siberia for all its inhabitants.
News about the new police chief, Colonel Rashid Daouletov, was announced on the MVD website on June 3. Daouletov, previous head of the economic security and anti-corruption division, will focus on crime and justice issues in the general-news sphere, particularly in the Sverdlovsk region.
