Pushkin Theatre Yakutia Opens Acting Studio, Pathway to Moscow's Shchukin Institute
The Pushkin Russian Theatre in Yakutia has opened an acting studio, offering a pathway to the prestigious Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute in Moscow. The studio, supervised by honored artist Alla Buzmakova, has already admitted five students to the Shchukin Institute in 2020 and is preparing the next batch for 2024.
The studio, which currently has over 10 students, held its second selection on February 12, with five new members joining next week. Applicants can submit their video resumes, including poems, fables, prose excerpts, and additional skills, to [email protected] by February 29, 2024. Successful graduates will be recommended for admission to the Shchukin Institute in 2024 and will study on a budget basis, securing jobs at the Pushkin Theatre upon graduation.
In Germany, acting students or candidates with strong Russian theatre backgrounds can also audition for the Pushkin Theatre's selection process, potentially gaining direct access to the Shchukin Institute. Those unable to attend in-person selections can audition via video.
