Holy Cross Men's Basketball Kicks Off Winter Season with a Victory
The College of the Holy Cross kicked off the 2024-2025 winter season in style, as the Men's Basketball team triumphantly defeated the Boston University Terriers by 20 points at the Hart Center Arena on February 8, 2025.
The game, which served as the Men's Basketball Winter Homecoming, attracted a diverse crowd of fans, including many generations of Holy Cross Men's and Women's Basketball alumni. The student section was particularly enthusiastic, adorned in Holy Cross merchandise, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the game.
In a gesture of appreciation, Holy Cross Athletics and the Holy Cross Student Government Association (SGA) provided free swag for the audience. Team Purple t-shirts were given away to fans, and upon entering the Hart Center, alumni basketball players and coaches were welcomed with custom-made lanyards.
The victory was a proud moment for Holy Cross, well-earned by the team. The top scorers of the game were freshman Max Green with 18 points and sophomore DeAndre Williams with 16 points.
Meanwhile, off the court, students at the College of the Holy Cross were also busy with other events. On September 10th, 2022, the college held its annual Co-Curricular Extravaganza in the Hart Center Arena of the Luth Athletic Complex. The event, sponsored by Holy Cross Athletics and hosted by The Purple Key, offered free purple pom poms and beads at the door.
Additionally, the Peace of Mind Night Market, which allowed students to "travel around the world," took place in the Loyola Ballroom. The event, hosted by Peace of Mind, was held on February 23rd, 2023, and again on February 8, 2025, during the Men's Basketball Winter Homecoming game.
