Sylt's Veterinary Queen, Stephanie Petersen, Lists Luxury Estate for 19.5 Million Euros

Let's chat about Stephanie Petersen, a force to be reckoned with on the North Sea island of Sylt. She's been a dedicated vet in Wenningstedt-Braderup for over two decades, not shying away from TV appearances like "Die Tier-Docs" (Sat. 1) and "Die Tierärzte - Retter mit Herz" (ARD). Alongside her partner and two sons, she calls Gut Söl'ring home. This jaw-dropping property was constructed in 2013, along with a renowned Trakehner stud farm that they operate. Gut Söl'ring is, as you may have guessed, up for grabs.

Sotheby's International Realty has popped up with an exclusive offering for this ocean-side paradise at a cool 19.5 million euros. A buyer will walk away with quite the package unless the lucky newcomer is put off by all that they'll get.

Space, Space, and More Space

Spanning an impressive 400 square meters, this dream home boasts 13 rooms, 8 bathrooms, and enough elbow room to accommodate both people and horses. With a property size of 14,700 square meters at your disposal, you might be ready to call the whole shebang a permanent residence. However, keep in mind that the neighboring agricultural area stretches across about 15 hectares – ample room for equestrian activities.

At the heart of the estate, you'll find an impressive 870 square meter equestrian facility. Cue the horse-loving nation, as this space is equipped with stables, lunging areas, and even a boarding stable with a dozen rental stalls.

Homes Sweet Homes

Other pods dotting the property include a granny annexe and a vacation apartment, providing ample living and rest opportunities for all guests. The big question remains whether Dr. Petersen will bid farewell to her spacepost-sale.

"Nothing is set in stone as of now," she told the online publication "shz.de." "There are no concrete plans, no definitive timeline for change."

Future ventures

"Maybe I'll commute between Sylt and Münsterland where we have another home," mused Petersen. With a 23-year stint of daily practice under her belt – including emergency services on weekends and holidays – there's no wonder she's seeking a break.

She previously pursued a career as a flight attendant before transitioning into veterinary medicine. Ultimately, her heart set course for Sylt almost two decades ago, where she opened her practice in 2001. Celebrity visitors like soccer coach Jürgen Klopp and designer Guido Mario Kretschmer drop by for her veterinary services as well.

"Sylt is my home, and I have a responsibility to the animals and to the island," she vows to the Bild newspaper. "Being a vet isn't just a job for me, but a passion."
