Pupils in Moscow mercilessly assault a classmate due to his distinctive looks.
School violence in Moscow's School No. 2120 is causing a major stir after an eighth-grader suffered a brutal beating, leaving him seriously injured. According to eyewitness accounts, the culprits, also eighth-graders, had previously targeted the victim due to his unconventional style.
The attack took place on April 21st. The victim, Daniil (pseudonym), and the assailants, Jambulat and Ilnur (also pseudonyms), were all present at the time. A group of students recounted that the boys had pounced on Daniil the day before during school hours, causing a concussion, a fractured jaw, and a prolonged loss of consciousness. Onlookers claim that other students and a teacher had to intervene, while the educator reportedly urged the children to return to class during the mayhem.
School director, Dmitry Lanshchikov, admitted to a physical altercation but refused to call it a beating. Instead, he announced that the attackers would face "internal school supervision." He also mentioned that the parents of the perpetrators had been summoned and that the school would enhance teacher patrols during breaks. Teachers are also expected to deliver lessons on conflict resolution, and the victim will receive psychological aid alongside assistance from teachers.
The Moscow Department of Education viewed the incident as an appalling act of violence and promptly placed School No. 2120 under special surveillance. Additionally, Student and parent bodies launched a petition demanding accountability for the attackers.
The tragic event in Moscow echoes another such occurrence in the nearby Ryazan region, where a young girl was brutally assaulted, forcing her to her knees.
