Punk rock veterans Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy and Motion City Soundtrack collaborate on a new single, with Stump also performing with Weekend Nachos on stage.
In an exciting turn of events, Fall Out Boy will be co-headlining the Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City, Maryland. The music extravaganza is scheduled for September 28, with Fall Out Boy taking the stage on Sunday.
This comes after Joe Trohman, the guitarist of Fall Out Boy, announced in September that he'll be taking 'the rest of the year off' following hand surgery. Max Bernstein, a member of Taylor Swift's band, has been filling in for him during this period.
The Oceans Calling Festival is shaping up to be a spectacular event, with Green Day headlining on Friday and Noah Kahan headlining on Saturday. Interestingly, on Friday, September 26, Green Day will co-headline with Fall Out Boy, not just featuring Patrick Stump, who is a member of Fall Out Boy.
Fall Out Boy's lineup for the festival is not the only exciting news for the band's fans. They have recently shared their 2005 cover of 'Start Today' by Gorilla Biscuits as part of their 20th anniversary edition of 'From Under The Cork Tree', which is set for release on October 17.
Meanwhile, Patrick Stump, the vocalist of Fall Out Boy, has been keeping busy outside the band. He has rejoined Motion City Soundtrack, a band from the same 2000s pop-punk scene as Fall Out Boy. Stump's contribution to Motion City Soundtrack can be heard on their new single, 'Particle Physics', which is from their first album in a decade, 'The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World', set for release on September 19.
Stump's presence in the music scene extends beyond Fall Out Boy and Motion City Soundtrack. In 2011, he provided cleaner vocals for Weekend Nachos' song 'Jock Powerviolence'. Drummer Andy Hurley of Fall Out Boy, who is also a member of hardcore and crust punk outfit SECT and metalcore band Racetraitor, has similarly ventured into various musical projects.
As for Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, he was also a member of Racetraitor. The band's influence can be traced back to the early 2000s, adding another layer of depth to Fall Out Boy's music.
Amidst all these developments, it's clear that Fall Out Boy continues to make waves in the music industry, with their co-headlining slot at the Oceans Calling Festival being a testament to their enduring popularity. The band's fans are eagerly awaiting their performance, and it's sure to be a memorable event.
