Punisher Reboot Rises: Frank Castle Returns for More Deadly Vengeance

Hey there! The gritty, blood-soaked world of Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, is making a comeback! This time, he's heading back to the comics with the five-issue miniseries "Punisher: Red Band."

The masterminds behind this chaotic ride are none other than Benjamin Percy, known for his work on Wolverine, and Julius Ohta, who's no stranger to Iron Man. Frank Castle, our favourite gun-slinging antihero, is set to unleash a wave of carnage in the Big Apple, having lost all memories of his past life but retaining his knack for taking lives.

In the previous instalment, we witnessed Frank controlling the Hand ninja cult, learning his wife was alive and divorcing her, and for a brief stint, he even ventured into Weirdworld. Now, he's back in NYC, ready to dish out a whole lot of pain and suffering. Much like the TV version, this Frank ain't one to shy away from a good ol' fashioned bloodbath, hence the "Red Band" label to denote the explicit content.

Benjamin Percy, in an excited tweet, expressed his eagerness to put this project together. He claims the series will be "as gritty and bloody as it gets," promising the ultimate dose of street-level mayhem for us readers.

Marvel's been a tad confused about where to slot Frank into their universe. Part of it could be attributed to the timing of a heavily armed vigilante, making TV airwaves soon after mass shootings, or the oversimplified co-opting of his symbol by police forces. However, in Daredevil: Born Again, they tackled this issue head-on, having Frank wipe out a whole gang of Punisher cops and telling them they were doing a terrible job[1][2][3][4][5].

So, mark your calendars for September 10, 2025, because that's when Punisher: Red Band rolls out. Stay tuned for more updates on Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, DC, and Doctor Who!
