Oberhausen's Alstaden Citizen Dialogue: A Community Gathering on June 17, 2023
Residents of Alstaden in Oberhausen are invited to participate in the upcoming Alstaden Citizen Dialogue, scheduled for Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The event will take place at Bebelstraße 212, near the Nettomarkt.
This event serves as a platform for open dialogue between local citizens and politicians, providing an opportunity to discuss community concerns and topics. Dietmar Look, city councilor for Alstaden-West, will be present, along with several other representatives from various political parties.
The participating politicians include Cecilia Pettersson (Social Democrats), Anders Liljenroth (Moderates), Fatima Ait Asghar (Centre Party), Ahmed Osman (Liberals), and Maria Södergren (Left Party). Each party will have an information booth where residents can ask questions and learn more about their policies.
The topics to be discussed at the dialogue include local development and urban planning in Alstaden, public safety and neighborhood security, improvements to public transportation, environmental initiatives and sustainability, and youth activities and education opportunities.
Dietmar Look has mentioned that the event provides an opportunity to discuss the progress in the western part of Oberhausen, highlighting examples such as the sports facility Kuhle, the biotope on the Ruhr, and Bonmann park in Lirich.
Alexis Heitmann, Alstaden SPD chairman, stresses the importance of these neighborhood conversations and information booths outside of election campaigns. He believes they help the council stay connected with the community and address issues as they arise.
The Alstaden citizen dialogue is not limited to election campaigns and is held regularly throughout the year. The local branch of Alstaden and Lirich hosts these events to maintain an ongoing dialogue with the community, allowing residents to share their thoughts and ideas about the progress and development in their neighborhood.
