PSG kick off Champions League title defence, Liverpool secured by Van Dijk's triumph
Premier League Leaders Liverpool Continue Unbeaten Run
Liverpool, under the guidance of Arne Slot, have maintained their dominance in the English Premier League, winning all four of their opening games. Remarkably, each victory has come within the last 10 minutes of the match.
The Reds' latest win came against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, where they scored two goals in the first six minutes and held on to their lead despite several missed opportunities to extend it. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring, with Ryan Gravenberch providing the assist. Liverpool's second goal came in the 87th minute, courtesy of a Marcos Llorente own goal.
Elsewhere in the Champions League, Inter Milan secured a 2-0 victory over Ajax. Marcus Thuram was the star of the show, scoring two goals - one in each half - with Hakan Calhanoglu providing two assists. Thuram's first goal came from a 90th-minute counter-attack, while the second was a well-worked team effort.
In another exciting match, Bodo/Glimt came back from a 2-0 deficit against Slavia Prague to draw 2-2 in their Champions League debut. Daniel Bassi scored one of Bodo/Glimt's goals, while Sondre Brunstad Fet netted a 90th-minute equaliser.
Meanwhile, in the Club World Cup, Bayern Munich defeated Chelsea 3-1. Despite Trevoh Chalobah scoring an own goal for Chelsea, they could not prevent Bayern from extending their lead, with the final scoreline reflecting a dominant performance from the German side.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) started their Champions League campaign with a convincing 4-0 win over Atalanta. Captain Marquinhos opened the scoring, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes adding further goals. Goncalo Ramos rounded off the scoring in the 90th minute.
In other news, Atlético Madrid coach Diego Simeone was sent off after a confrontation with Liverpool fans during their Champions League match against the English team. Cypriot club Pafos played a goalless draw at Olympiakos despite having a player sent off and a veteran center-half injured.
Harry Kane scored a goal from a self-created opportunity against Chelsea, but it was not enough to prevent Chelsea's defeat in the Club World Cup. Cole Palmer scored a goal for Chelsea against Bayern Munich, but it was another own goal that ultimately decided the match.
