PS Fails to Reveal Customer List; Charges PSD with Deceitful Strategy
Rewritten Article:
Marcos Perestrello, spokesperson for the PS election campaign, slams the PSD for pulling a "distraction tactic" in the Spinumviva case, connected to the family business of PM Luís Montenegro.
"The PSD seems fixated on the public revelation of Montenegro's client list, yet they're blind to the year-long secrecy surrounding it," Perestrello fired back. "That's more indicative of an entrenched opacity, a refusal to be transparent. They've hidden company lists just as they've cloaked their banking accounts. What's crucial about these businesses is the timing of contracts and the rationale behind the astronomical state revenue spikes in deals worth about €100 million," he added.
Perestrello demands answers regarding the delayed gambling concession tender, currently run by Solverde, which was recommended for launch in October 2024 by Portugal's Tourism Board, six months ago.
"The PM and the PSD owe us sincere responses, not smoke screens designed to deflect our focus from the essential issues," he reiterated.
Regarding accusations that Perestrello leaked details about Spinumviva's clients, he made it clear that the Socialists didn't disclose this information to the public.
"This isn't information we needed to disseminate. By nature, this information is public unless the PM requested otherwise," he clarified.
When questioned about Luís Montenegro's performance with Tony Carreira at São Bento Palace, Perestrello mentioned it as just another government election strategy.
"The PM jettisoned to another campaign event in Ovibeja. If anything, this is the campaigning Government, not the PSD," Perestrello concluded.
