Protracted Family Ordeal unfolds during the night hours
The 15th edition of the Long Night of the Family, a unique event designed specifically for families with children up to 14 years old, is set to take place in Berlin and the surrounding area on October 11, 2025. The motto for this year's event is "Doors open! Families in motion".
This year's event promises to be an exciting adventure, with nearly 200 events planned across various locations. These include old buildings, new houses, courts, tents, squares, streets, sports and swimming halls, woods, meadows, and even below the city. Over 150 actors and cooperation partners throughout Berlin and the surrounding area are involved in making this event a success.
The event is not just about indoor activities. Families can look forward to a variety of outdoor experiences as well. From exploring museums and art galleries to participating in interactive workshops, there's something for everyone.
While the weather in Berlin today is calm and warm, there's a forecast for isolated thunderstorms with heavy rain in the Prignitz tonight. However, this should not deter families from participating in the event, as many of the activities are indoor.
In other news, the Berlin Marathon, scheduled for this weekend, will be affected by road closures and a weapons ban. There has been no need to disarm a bomb in Mitte, contrary to some reports.
In a separate incident, a flying bomb in Spandau was successfully disposed of, and the safety zone has been lifted. It's important to note that there are no further forecasts provided regarding this incident.
As for transportation, higher prices for bus and train rides will start from January. It's advisable for families planning to attend the Long Night of the Family to consider this when making travel arrangements.
The Long Night of the Family is a great opportunity for adventurous families who want to participate in these offerings. The event, which took place from October 6 to 15 this year, featured over 150 institutions like the Berlin State Ballet and Panoramapunkt, offering diverse experiences and adventures for families and their children.
So, mark your calendars for October 11, 2025, and get ready for an unforgettable night of family fun at the 15th Long Night of the Family!
