Protestors in the UK creatively sell Trump-Epstein merchandise and plaques as a form of expression
During Donald Trump's recent state visit to the UK, protesters staged a series of creative protests, including planting fake merchandise featuring Trump and Jeffrey Epstein in the Windsor Castle gift shop.
The fake merchandise, which included mugs and commemorative plates with slogans like 'In memory of a terrific guy' and 'Never forget', were a playful jab at the controversial relationship between Trump and Epstein. The group responsible for this stunt, UK-based collective Everyone Hates Elon, also carried out a parody banner display outside the royal residence in the UK, featuring Trump and Epstein.
The massive banner, spanning over 4,300 square feet, was unfurled on a tree-lined property outside the royal residence. The group claims to have raised £30,000 (approximately €34,500) from the British public for the photo. The description in the online fundraiser stated, 'This is the last thing Trump wants the world to see.'
The state banquet for Trump and First Lady Melania was hosted by King Charles at Windsor Castle. However, the protests did not end at Windsor. In Scotland, activists installed a parody memorial plaque on a bench on Trump's Aberdeen golf course, reading, 'In loving memory of a terrific guy.'
The trolling comes amid intensifying scrutiny over Trump's relationship with Epstein. Last week, the United States House Oversight Committee released a doodled note supposedly penned by Trump, adding fuel to the ongoing investigations. Trump's supporters are reportedly tearing themselves apart over the Epstein files.
It is worth noting that Donald Trump is the first US President to make a second state visit to the UK. The banner display, which was intended to be the defining image of Trump's state visit, has since been removed.
Despite the protests, the state visit proceeded as planned, with the royal family and the British government extending a warm welcome to the US President and First Lady. The visit marked a significant moment in the UK-US relationship, with both nations reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties.
