In a significant turn of events, London witnessed a massive anti-immigration march on Saturday, organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson. The event, dubbed "Unite the Kingdom," attracted approximately 110,000 demonstrators, setting a new record for attendance at such gatherings.

The march, which exceeded police expectations and spilled beyond the approved route, was met with a strong response from Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Starmer, in a statement, defended the values he said define modern Britain, and warned against intimidation based on race or background. He also condemned assaults on police officers during the march, as reports indicated that 26 officers were injured due to being kicked, punched, and struck with bottles.

Starmer further stated that the flag of Britain represents a diverse country and will never be surrendered to those who use it as a symbol of violence, fear, and division. He also reiterated his stance on people's right to peaceful protest, despite the political controversy surrounding the issue of immigration.

Immigration has indeed become Britain's leading political issue in 2025, surpassing economic concerns. This was evident in the turnout at the anti-immigration march, which saw participants waving English and Union Jack flags. However, no new records about immigration statistics or arrests were mentioned in the aftermath of the event.

At least 25 arrests were made during the march, with more expected, as authorities continue to investigate incidents of unacceptable violence reported during the clashes. No new statements from Tommy Robinson or any other far-right activist were made in the aftermath of the event.

As the nation grapples with the implications of this event, the focus remains on maintaining peace, upholding the values of diversity and inclusivity, and ensuring the safety of all citizens. The Prime Minister's office has assured the public that they are committed to addressing the concerns raised during the march while promoting a society that respects and celebrates its diverse population.
