Protesters Are Staging a Stand Against: Jimmy Kimmel's Suspension Draws Crowds

In the heart of Hollywood, a significant protest has been unfolding on Hollywood Boulevard. Supporters of Jimmy Kimmel have been rallying against his indefinite suspension from ABC News. The protest took place outside the theatre where Jimmy Kimmel tapes his popular talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The rally was led by Sunsara Taylor, who delivered a passionate speech criticising both ABC and Disney Plus. Taylor argued that Jimmy Kimmel did not deserve to be suspended and expressed her belief that the current situation is a slippery slope for comedians.

Among the protesters were several actors from the fictional world of Hollywood, including iconic characters like Freddy Krueger and Darth Vader. Stand-up comedian Kyle Engberg was also present, voicing his concern over the potential silencing of free speech. Engberg believes it's time for the public to stand up and ensure that such silencing does not occur.

Entertainment attorney Jonathan Handel weighed in on the situation, stating that a potential boycott could impact Disney World in various ways. Handel mentioned potential boycotts of Disney theme parks, tours, travel, consumer products, and movies. He also suggested that thousands of participants would be needed for a boycott to be effective.

Many protesters carried signs demanding Kimmel's return and discussed the possibility of boycotting ABC and Disney. The boycott call has gained notable attention, leading to widespread backlash and organized efforts urging mass subscription cancellations from ABC, Disney, Disney Plus, and Hulu. Public campaigns to contact the companies and pressure advertisers have also been initiated, reflecting significant public and political activism in response to the suspension.

However, ABC has not officially explained its reasons for suspending Jimmy Kimmel. The ongoing question is whether the suspension will be temporary or permanent. As the dust settles, it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold.

Engberg, like many others, is hopeful that free speech will prevail and that Jimmy Kimmel will return to our screens soon. The protest serves as a reminder of the power of public opinion and the importance of standing up for what we believe in.
