In the heart of Brazil's ongoing political turmoil, Michelle Bolsonaro, the wife of former President Jair Bolsonaro, has been a prominent figure in recent protests against the current administration led by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

During a pro-Bolsonaro and anti-Lula protest in Brasília-DF, Michelle Bolsonaro denounced perceived persecution of freedom of expression and religion. Addressing the crowd from atop a car, she made several accusations against the current president, including labelling him a "liar" and "irresponsible."

The protests, organised by PL Mulher, a national organisation led by Michelle Bolsonaro, were part of a series scheduled to take place in 23 cities across the country. In Belém, PA on Sunday, 3rd of March, Michelle Bolsonaro participated in another such demonstration.

During her speeches, Michelle Bolsonaro criticised the federal government for allegedly sending the country's riches abroad and for allying with communists and dictators. She also accused the government of changing their stance regarding Justice Alexandre de Moraes, now viewing him as an ally, after initially opposing his appointment by former President Michel Temer.

Moreover, Michelle Bolsonaro spoke about provoking the United States and discussing "de-dollarizing" the dollar, a term that refers to the idea of reducing or eliminating the use of the U.S. dollar in international trade.

The protests, which took place on various dates, both in the morning and afternoon, also criticised measures targeting Bolsonaro supporters. These accusations come amidst a highly polarized and tense political environment in Brazil, with the current political and judicial conflict largely centred on Jair Bolsonaro’s actions and Lula's responses.

Jair Bolsonaro is currently under house arrest and on trial for allegedly plotting a coup to overturn the 2022 election results, which Lula won. The Brazilian Supreme Court has recently eased restrictions on Bolsonaro’s house arrest to allow family visits, including from Michelle Bolsonaro’s relatives, without prior authorization.

Meanwhile, Lula's government strongly condemns the actions attributed to Bolsonaro and his family, framing them as attacks on Brazilian sovereignty and democratic institutions. The economic conflict with the U.S., intertwined with this political confrontation, has escalated tensions both domestically and internationally, impacting Brazil's trade relations and political stability.

As the political landscape in Brazil continues to evolve, Michelle Bolsonaro's public protests against President Lula da Silva serve as a testament to the ongoing divisions within the country.

Michelle Bolsonaro, a vocal figure in war-and-conflicts and general-news, has been leading protests against the current administration of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, with her speeches containing criticism of political decisions and alleged alliances, as well as accusations of irresponsible behavior and persecution of freedom of expression and religion. The protests, part of a series in multiple cities, encompass crime-and-justice issues, such as her speeches about Justice Alexandre de Moraes and the allegations of a coup plot against the 2022 election results.
