Protester Bushkov Stages Another Rally in Yakutsk: Latest Agenda Unveiled
Yakutsk's Creative Activists: Andrey Bushkov and the National Liberation Movement
Last night, local activist Andrey Bushkov once again took to the streets of Yakutsk, warning residents about the ongoing colonization of Russia. With unseasonably warm temperatures reaching -11°C, it made for a comfortable outdoor protest. In the coming months, another familiar face, a controversial billionaire, plans to hold a rally on this very square in front of the mayor's office. Yet today, we're focusing on Andrey, the coordinator of Yakutsk's National Liberation Movement (NOD).
Our first encounter with Andrey was back in 2018. Since then, his message has remained consistent: Vladimir Putin should receive extraordinary powers, the Russian Constitution should be stripped of American articles, and missiles should be pointed at Washington. However, Bushkov doesn't usually delve into specifics on how to help mother Russia; instead, he suggests that studying the ideology of NOD will provide the answers.
In 2020, significant changes were made to the Russian Constitution, but NOD deemed them insufficient. More drastic reforms are necessary, according to Bushkov, to resolve the Ukrainian conflict in just a month.
Whether or not to trust NOD's original ideals is up to each reader. Back in February 2018, the chief editor of "Yakutia.Info," Dennis Adamov, interviewed Andrey, who was then picketing in the city. Here's an excerpt from their conversation:
- What's your take on the fact that Russian authorities keep the country's money in American treasury bonds?* I have a negative opinion of this.- Why don't you ask Vladimir Putin to withdraw these funds and invest them in the Russian economy?* According to the occupation Constitution, which the Russian people voted for in stupidity in 1993, all power in our country belongs to the US State Department. Russian authorities are obliged to keep money in American funds because the Central Bank belongs to the US Federal Reserve—Bushkov stated at the time.
In March 2022, the Russian Ministry of Finance announced the freezing of $300 billion in gold and foreign currency reserves placed abroad.
