Protecting the country's interests via communication remains essential, according to the Prime Minister.

**Prime Minister Outlines Strategic Goals for Vietnam News Agency**

At the 27th Congress of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Party Organisation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh set out a series of strategic goals and expectations for the agency's direction and development over the 2025-2030 tenure [1].

**Key Strategic Directions and Objectives**

The VNA was urged to prioritise the protection of national interests through its communications, reinforcing its role as a strategic and reliable news outlet for the Party and the State [1]. The agency was also tasked with promoting democracy, innovative and visionary thinking, and proactive action to earn the trust of the Party and the support of the people [1].

Leadership in science, technology, and digital transformation was another critical objective, with the VNA urged to pioneer in these areas, accelerate digital transformation, and deepen its global integration [1]. The agency was also asked to effectively implement key resolutions, including the core “four pillars” Politburo Resolutions, as well as upcoming resolutions on healthcare, culture, and education [1].

The VNA was tasked with creatively implementing the Party’s strategic orientations, reshaping its internal structure, and strengthening Party building efforts to better serve the country’s rise and proactive citizen service [1]. The agency was also expected to adopt a renewed mindset and vision, with concrete, impactful actions that reinforce unity, strengthen Party leadership and combat capacity, and enable the VNA to reach new milestones in its mission [1].

**Professionalism and Ethical Journalism**

The VNA leadership pledged to build a strong, clean, and innovative Party Organisation, develop a team of professional, principled, creative, and compassionate journalists, and enhance the agency’s standing as a leading voice for the Party and State [1].

**Overall Vision**

The Prime Minister’s directives position the VNA not only as a news disseminator but as a proactive institution in national development, innovation, and digital transformation, with a mandate to safeguard national interests and adapt to a rapidly changing global media landscape [1]. These goals reflect the Party’s broader vision for the country’s development and the VNA’s critical role in realizing that vision in the 2025-2030 period.

Vũ Việt Trang, Secretary of the VNA Party Committee and VNA General Director, affirmed that the agency will seriously and fully realize the PM's directives [1]. The PM also emphasised the need for the VNA to propose solutions to the Party and State in a timely manner and to ensure objectivity and truthfulness in reporting [1].
