In the heart of Düsseldorf, the city came alive with the spirit of carnival as the Düsseldorf Originals hosted a captivating event. The evening was filled with music, dance, and camaraderie, as Thorsten Sander immediately set the mood and rocked the small stage with his songs.

The event featured a performance by the local boy group, Hahnenschrei of the Rote Funken Ratingen, who enthralled the crowd with their energetic renditions, including popular Cologne songs. Prince Andreas I. and Venetia Evelyn then took the stage, captivating the audience with just a microphone during their performance.

The carnival enthusiasts sang and danced along, their spirits high, as they joined in singing the prince couple's session song. The enthusiasm was infectious, leading to spontaneous "Hoppa" calls from the prince himself.

The event was graced by a visit from the Benrath Castle couple, adding an air of royal elegance to the festivities. The evening continued with music, and a colorful piggy bank was passed around Hoferhof, collected by Annalena and Annalena, for the prince couple's fundraising efforts for the Ambulant Children's and Youth Hospice (AKHD) and the Clara Schumann Music School.

Lothar Höhring, CC President, honored Guido Pfeiffer, the long-serving business manager of the Originals, with the medal of honor of the German Carnival Federation. This recognition was not just for his dedication to the Originals but also for his significant contributions to the carnival community, as the Originals additionally appointed him as honorary business manager.

Unfortunately, the Swinging Funfares encountered some technical difficulties while setting up their equipment and musicians at Hoferhof. Despite this, the spirit of the carnival remained unbroken, and the evening continued with music and joy.

Looking ahead, there are upcoming opportunities to celebrate carnival with the Düsseldorf Originals. Mark your calendars for the "200 Years of Düsseldorf Carnival" on 9.2.2024, "Children's Carnival of the KG Düsseldorf Originals e.V." on 16.2.2025, and "I Love My City Carnival" on 28.2.2025.
