Proposals have already been put forth by the Commission.
The city is preparing for runoff elections on September 28th, where citizens will have the opportunity to vote for the next Mayor and City Council Chairperson.
For the mayoral runoff, Erik Lierenfeld (SPD) and Anissa Saysay (CDU) are the contenders. In the city president election on September 28th, Anissa Saysay (CDU) will challenge Erik Lierenfeld (SPD).
For the city council chairperson position, Katharina Reinhold (CDU) and Hakan Temel (SPD) are the runoff candidates.
Voting will take place at the same polling station as the September 14th election. Citizens can participate in the runoff elections using their already issued voting cards. Those without their voting card can still vote by presenting their ID at the polling station.
Mail-in ballots for the runoff elections will be sent out on Thursday, September 18th. Online mail-in voting requests can be submitted at https://www.itk-rheinland.de/briefwahlantrag/our-website#/.
The city's website offers a polling station finder to help citizens locate their voting location. Polling stations will open at 8 AM and close at 6 PM on September 28th.
It is important to note that no new voting notifications will be sent out for the runoff elections.
