The city is gearing up for runoff elections on September 28th, with contests for both the mayoral position and the city council chairperson.

Voters will head to their same polling stations as the previous election, with polling stations opening at 8 AM and closing at 6 PM. To participate, voters should bring their previously issued polling cards or present their personal ID at the polling station.

For the mayoral runoff, the candidates are Erik Lierenfeld (SPD) and Anissa Saysay (CDU). In the race for the city council chairperson, Katharina Reinhold (CDU) and Hakan Temel (SPD) are the contenders.

The election office in the New Town Hall will begin accepting votes starting September 18th. It will be open from 8:30 AM to 12 PM on weekdays, and from 2 PM to 6 PM on Thursdays.

Voters who wish to vote by mail can apply online starting September 18th. Mail-in ballots will be sent out on the same date. The city's website features a polling station finder to help voters locate their designated polling stations.

The election office encourages all eligible voters to exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard in these important runoff elections.
