Proposal suggests Commission could put forward a plan for a worker radiation safety directive, addressing risks from ionizing radiation exposure.

In a statement made to NZZ am Sonntag, Marcel Dettling, the SVP Vice President, expressed his disapproval of the Federal Council's negotiating strategy following Donald Trump's customs shock on August 1st.

Dettling demanded swift and decisive measures to support Swiss companies' competitiveness, suggesting that the state should urgently reduce taxes and duties, cut red tape, and lift certain regulations to alleviate the economic burden. He vehemently rejected aligning Switzerland with the EU, labelling its bureaucracy and regulations as "monstrous" and the worst path for Switzerland.

Instead, Dettling supported following the approach of Economics Minister Guy Parmelin, advocating for the conclusion of free trade agreements with many countries, thereby reducing dependency on any single trading partner[1].

In response to a question about burning the agreement with the EU and grilling Cervelats on that fire, Dettling criticized the negotiating strategy of the Federal Council. He further demanded further negotiations, particularly in relation to opening the borders for American beef.
