The local election for the district administrator in Meerbusch, held on September 14, resulted in no candidate receiving the necessary majority. As a result, a runoff election has been scheduled for September 28.
The election office, located on the first floor of the citizen's house at Wittenberger Straße 21, room S4, will reopen on Wednesday, September 17, and will have extended hours leading up to the runoff election. On September 26, the office will be open from 8 am to 3 pm, and on the day of the election, it will open at the usual time and remain open until all votes have been counted.
To vote, you will need to bring along your voting notification, if you have already received one, and a valid personal ID. An elevator is available at the election office for those with disabilities.
The candidates running in the repeat election are Thomas Gosewehr (CDU) and Klaus Effertz (SPD). Information about the election can be found on the city of Meerbusch's website.
It is important to note that no new voting notifications will be sent out for the runoff election. If you have already received a voting notification, please bring it along to the election office. If you have not received one, you can still vote directly at the office.
The election office is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8 am to 4 pm, and on Thursdays until 6 pm. On Fridays, the office is open from 8 am to 12:30 pm.
