The Alternative for Germany (AfD) holds steady in second place with a 23% share, while the Greens trail close behind at 12%. The Left party jumps one point to 11%, just edging past the Social Democrats (SPD) and Free Democrats (FDP). However, both the SPD and FDP remain below the 5% threshold with a measly 3%.

In the realm of political sympathies and performance, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) leads the pack with an average rating of 2.3 out of 5. Rounding out the top four are Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) and Economics Minister Katherina Reiche (CDU), each commanding a 0.7 and 0.0 rating, respectively. Chancellor Friedrich Merz and CSU leader Markus Söder trail with a flat 0.0. AfD leader Alice Weidel brings up the rear with a negative score of -2.5.

When it comes to the federal government's plans to offer significant tax relief to companies, respondents remain skeptical. Over a third (35%) believe that such measures would significantly revive the economy, while 51% anticipate minor positive impacts. Only CDU/CSU and FDP supporters express widespread optimism in this matter.

A majority (40%) of respondents advocate for European states to bolster Ukraine's military support, while 30% prefer the status quo, and 26% argue for less military aid.

There's widespread support for a temporary weapons delivery suspension to Israel amid escalating violence in the Gaza Strip. Over three-quarters (77%) of respondents endorse this view, with just 15% advocating for more weapons. Moreover, 63% call for Germany to increase political pressure on Israel to end the conflict promptly.

The Politbarometer survey, conducted by the Mannheimer Forschungsgruppe Wahlen from June 3-5, 2023, surveyed 1247 eligible voters. The margin of error ranges between plus/minus three percentage points for a figure of 40% and plus/minus two percentage points for a figure of 10%.
