Proposal of Nine Key Points by AB Party for a Balanced Election Process Presented

The Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has submitted a nine-point proposal to the Election Commission (EC) with the aim of ensuring a fair and peaceful general election. The proposal was presented by the AB Party Chairman, Mujibur Rahman Manju, during a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

The meeting took place at Nirbachan Bhaban, the headquarters of the Election Commission. The AB Party Secretary General, Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, and senior leaders were also present at the meeting.

One of the key proposals by the AB Party is the deployment of students as volunteers to assist the Election Commission. These students will work alongside law enforcement agencies to maintain the electoral code of conduct and law and order during the elections.

The students are intended to assist in ensuring a smooth and peaceful election process, particularly in maintaining the electoral code of conduct and law and order.

Another significant proposal from the AB Party is the suggestion for an extraordinary election instead of a conventional one. The party urges the commission to think in a new way to make the extraordinary election possible.

The AB Party also proposed reducing the number of polling centres and relocating them to large venues like educational institutions, stadiums, and open grounds. This proposal aims to streamline the election process and make it more efficient.

The party has also suggested launching a special campaign and educational programs in coordination with educational institutions for young voters. The aim is to encourage youth participation in the electoral process and educate them about the importance of voting.

The AB Party has urged the commission to conduct an awareness campaign through mass media and social media to educate the public about the election process and their voting rights.

The party has also proposed allowing dual citizenship for those contesting in both national and local elections. This proposal aims to encourage more Bangladeshis living abroad to participate in the electoral process.

The AB Party has also urged for voting rights for expatriates. This proposal is aimed at giving Bangladeshis living abroad a voice in the national electoral process.

The AB Party has not recommended a bicameral legislature without a proportional representation (PR) system to constitute the Upper House. However, the party has proposed at least 100 seats in the Lower House through the PR system.

The AB Party has also suggested a draft of model election campaign guidelines to ensure a fair and transparent election campaign.

Lastly, the party has proposed open debate among candidates under the Election Commission's initiative. This proposal aims to provide a platform for candidates to discuss their manifestos and policies openly, fostering a more informed electorate.

The search results do not provide information about the name of the chairman of the AB Party who presented the nine-point proposal to the election authority. However, the proposals put forward by the AB Party are a significant contribution to the ongoing discourse on electoral reforms in Bangladesh.
