Proposal for an outdoor fitness center, bar, and dining establishment at a non-casino property in Atlantic City
Atlantic City, New Jersey, is set to welcome a unique addition to its growing list of non-gambling attractions. The Fusion Gym, an outdoor gym and fitness area, is nearing completion and is expected to open at least on a partial basis next week, subject to approval from the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
Located just off the Boardwalk between the Showboat and Ocean Casino Resort, the Fusion Gym will offer patrons a place to lift weights and hoist drinks, making it a standout destination for fitness enthusiasts and socialisers alike.
Tony Chowdhury, the applicant for the Fusion Gym project, believes that this new attraction will help diversify Atlantic City's offerings for both gambling and non-gambling tourists. The Fusion Gym is part of the series of developments Atlantic City has introduced this summer, reflecting a growing emphasis on diverse, family-friendly, and fitness-oriented activities in the city.
Beyond the Fusion Gym, Atlantic City boasts a range of other attractions that cater to a variety of interests. The Atlantic City Boardwalk, for instance, offers four miles of food, drink, shopping, arcades, amusements, mini-golf, and activities like bike rentals and rides in rolling chairs. The Absecon Lighthouse, New Jersey's tallest and a popular tourist spot with city views, is open daily in the summer and dog friendly.
The city also offers family-friendly entertainment such as the Lucky Snake Arcade with over 300 games including virtual reality and an indoor electric go-kart track; North Beach Mini Golf with an Atlantic City-themed course; and the Atlantic City Aquarium featuring interactive marine exhibits and a hurricane simulator. Ocean tours such as dolphin watching cruises offer educational and recreational experiences based on marine life.
These developments and attractions underscore Atlantic City's commitment to providing a wide array of experiences for visitors, moving beyond traditional casino gambling and towards a more diverse and inclusive cityscape.
