In February 2024, Pforzheim will mark the 79th anniversary of the tragic bombing during World War II. The commemoration, under the motto "Remember, Commemorate, Shape", promises to be a poignant and significant event.

The official commemoration will take place at the main cemetery's World War II memorial on February 23, 2024, at 3 pm. Participants are invited to lay roses on the graves in the large grave field. The brass ensemble of the fire brigade will provide musical framing for the event.

At 7:50 pm on the same day, a moving tribute will be paid when all Pforzheim church bells ring in remembrance for 20 minutes. An oversized light projection will be cast onto the facade of the new town hall and the Wartberg tower at the same time.

The evening commemoration, connected with the Sea of Lights on the market square, will begin at 7:30 pm on February 23.

In addition to the commemoration events, Pforzheim's cultural scene will be alive with activities. The Kulturhaus Osterfeld invites the public to the reading "Anne's Struggle - Anne Frank vs. Adolf Hitler" at 10:30 am and 8:30 pm on unspecified dates.

The municipal cinema will screen "The Bombing Night" at 5 pm and "Code Yellowfin" at 6 pm on February 23. The Theater Pforzheim will also present "WOYZECK - A Play by Georg Büchner" in the large hall on February 28 at 8:10 pm.

Numerous actors are involved in the commemoration activities, ensuring a diverse program that accompanies this solemn occasion.
