The team's look will significantly evolve, especially in defense, as Milos Veljkovic is bound for Roter Stern Belgrad in his native Serbia, and Anthony Jung, who joined from Bröndby Kopenhagen in 2021, won't have his contract renewed.
Peter Niemeyer, Bremen's sporting director, acknowledged the need for change: "Preparing for the new season, we want to shake things up, bring in fresh energy, and help the team grow." Jung leaves after making 126 appearances for the Green-Whites.

Luckily, defender Marco Friedl and striker Marvin Ducksch, both crucial players, have recovered from their injuries and will be back in action. Werner didn't reveal whether they'd start from the get-go. Niklas Stark's availability remains uncertain, and Mitchell Weiser will serve a suspension after his fifth yellow card. Issa Kaboré is expected to replace Weiser.
