Proposal Demanded for Worker Radiation Safety Directive from Commission Regarding Ionising Radiation Risks

On Wednesday, the 14th of May, Prime Minister François Bayrou faced questioning by the parliamentary inquiry committee on school violence. The reason behind this grilling? Allegations that he was privy to the violent excesses at the private Catholic school Bétharram, Pyrenees-Atlantiques, back when he held the mantle of Minister of National Education and Mayor of Pau.

A Drowning Commission?

During this grueling interrogation, Bayrou turned the tables on co-rapporteur Paul Vanier, an LFI deputy. Accusing the fellow lawmaker of trying to incite "a scandal trial," Bayrou's tactics did not go unnoticed. Hadrien Clouet, another LFI deputy from Haute-Garonne, couldn't help but comment, "This hearing is a disaster for Mr. Bayrou."

Clouet further expressed his frustration at Bayrou's tactic of making baseless accusations, going as far as attempting to derail this inquiry commission. Apparently, Bayrou refused to share preliminary documents, a move aimed at hindering the commission's investigation work, according to Clouet.
