World Series of Poker Bahamas Triton Main Event 2024 - Day 2
Prominent Poker Player Santhosh Suvarna Progressing in WSOP Bahamas 2024 Main Event's Second Round
The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Bahamas Triton Main Event is currently cigarette smoke and saltwater at the majestic Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas. As other tournaments buzz around, India's poker prince, Santhosh Suvarna, is amongst the players advancing to Day 2.
It's another biggie in this series with a hefty $100,000 (~₹85 Lakh) buy-in. Santhosh, no stranger to high-roller tournaments, has already given the Triton Million a spin, where the entry fee was a whopping $500,000 (~₹4 Cr). He's survived Day 1 and hopes to repeat the magic on Day 2.
Day 1 was a poker showdown for the best players worldwide, battling for a place on Day 2. The day's game was tough as a gator, with 149 entrants whittled down to 80 survivors by the end of the day. New Zealand's David Yan stands as the chip leader, sporting an impressive stack of 1,166,000 chips, while Bulgaria's Dimitar Danchev is hot on his tail with 1,107,000 chips. China's Biao Ding rounds off the top three with nearly a million chips in play.
Santhosh didn't make the top chip counts but will still be in the race when Day 2 unfolds. With a solid stack of 211,000 chips, he’ll be aiming to chip up early to strengthen his position. However, other players will be fighting tooth and nail to build on their stacks and avoid a dive off the deep end.
The field will shrink day by day until only one remains, crowned the champion of the 2024 WSOP Bahamas Triton Main Event. Faces like Nick Schulman, Dylan Linde, Brian Kim, Darren Elias, Chance Kornuth, Alejandro Lococo, and Michael Addamo had to call it a day on Day 1.
