August 13 is the big day. Born on the 4th of July, 1940, Dubois has ascended to becomes one of the major powerhouses in the world of French breeding. Starting with trotters, he's made a name for himself in the thoroughbred sphere, particularly with Stacelita, a six-time Group or Grade 1 winner in France and the USA. The horse claimed remarkable victories such as the Prix de Diane, Prix Vermeille, and Beverly D. Stakes.
Stacelita, a daughter of Monsun out of Soignée, was later sold to Shadai Farm in Japan, where she produced champion filly Soul Stirring, winner of the Japanese Oaks and Hanshin Juvenile Fillies. Dubois hasn't stopped there. He's also had success with last year's Prix de Diane heroine Sparkling Plenty, a Kingman filly, and the 2023 Prix du Moulin winner Sauterne, also a Kingman descendant.
Dubois is also a force to reckon with in National Hunt racing. Kotkijet, whom he trained early in his career, won the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris twice in the Wildenstein silks, in partnership with Dubois. Other horses wearing his colors or carrying his influence include Noble Truth, Blue Wings, Qualisaga, Red Line, Zonza, Garnica, Othermix, Just Little, Fabulously, Mysterious Lina, Super Celebre, and more.
