Top Contender for State Election: AfD Leader Bollinger - Prominent AfD figure Bollinger emerges as a key contender in the upcoming parliamentary polls

Hey there! Let's dive into the latest political scoop in Rhineland-Palatinate, where the AfD is making waves with their fiery candidate, Jan Bollinger, leading the pack for the state election.

Bollinger, a 48-year-old from Neuwied, emerged victorious at the party congress in Idar-Oberstein, securing an impressive 71.3% of the votes. His closest competitors were left far behind in the dust. In second place, we have Damian Lohr, Eugen Ziegler, and Ralf Schönborn, all state parliamentarians, followed by Catalina Monzon from Kusel as the first woman on the list. Joachim Paul takes the sixth position, ensuring quite the diverse roster.

The event drew over 630 eligible members, making it the largest party congress the AfD has seen in Rhineland-Palatinate to date. Kay Gottschalk, the deputy federal party leader, was even in attendance.

Around 100 protesters gathered outside the hall in Idar-Oberstein, protesting against the AfD. Their chants of "Nazis out" echoed through the air, but the party presses on.

Bollinger delivered a blistering speech, attacking various parties with sharp words. He referred to the CDU as "election cheaters," stating that they offer blue AfD politics before elections but turn green afterward. He labeled the SPD, Greens, FDP, and Left as "political failures of the wall cartels," and the Left-wing radicals as the "gravediggers of our people."

Bollinger is gunning for the AfD to become the strongest party in Rhineland-Palatinate and potentially govern in the state election in March 2026. He believes the opportunities for this have never been better, and the AfD in Rhineland-Palatinate is the stronghold of the party in the west with a significant increase in members to over 4,000.

Bollinger plans to implement a "comprehensive expulsion offensive" if the AfD takes office, utilizing Rhineland-Palatinate's "expulsion airport Hahn" as a "national pilot project." He outlined his intentions to terminate the state broadcasting agreement, abolish road construction contributions, halt wind power expansion, and switch Rhineland-Palatinate to nuclear power.

Sebastian Münzenmaier, the AfD’s Mainz Bundestag MP, aims for a 20% plus X target for the state election. He intends to put pressure on Minister President Alexander Schweitzer (SPD). According to Münzenmaier, the AfD will "defeat" them, and currently, the party holds 6 out of 101 seats in the state parliament in Mainz.

So, that's the latest from the AfD's camp in Rhineland-Palatinate. Stay tuned for more updates as the state election approaches!
