Projection Mapping Spectacle Kicks off Anaheim Ducks Season: PIXERA Shatters the Frost
Projecting the Future at the Honda Center
Quince Imaging shook things up at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, when they opted for AV Stumpfl's PIXERA media-server platform to power a stunning projection-mapping installation. This visual wizardry was commissioned by the National Hockey League's very own Anaheim Ducks, eager to revamp their home ground, the 17,174-seat Honda Center arena.
Eric Gazzillo, Quince Imaging's VP of innovation, headed a team installing, programming, and supporting these projection-mapping systems. Across the NHL, NBA, and NCAA, their systems are a spectacle to behold.

At the Honda Center, Quince Imaging put two PIXERA servers to work (equipped with PIXERA Director and PIXERA control CORE licenses), along with twelve cutting-edge Christie Griffyn 4K50-RGB laser projectors. This powerful setup pumped out sharp 4K video content for all to see.
In addition to AV Stumpfl's hardware and Christie's Griffyn projectors (calibrated using Christie's Mystique Pro Venue Edition software), Quince Imaging used Stage Precision's SP software for precise tracking, calibration, and real-time data integration. This software played a vital role in streamlining the production process, ensuring a smooth workflow. OptiTrack motion-capture tracking, and their own Zelus visualizer technology were also employed for real-time player and game stats.

Regular show time involves 4K videos and effects crafted by the Anaheim Ducks' creative team. This visually stunning display is complemented by real-time stats visualization provided by Quince and engaging fan games played out on the ice.
