Program suspends broadcast of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" indefinitely, as reported by ABC.

In a move that has sparked controversy, Nexstar Media Group, owner of 32 ABC stations, has announced an indefinite suspension of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". This decision comes following Jimmy Kimmel's controversial remarks about the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Nexstar Media Group strongly objects to Kimmel's comments, stating that they do not reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities it serves. The company will replace "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets for the foreseeable future.

FCC Chair Brendan Carr has also denounced Kimmel's comments as "sick". He made these comments on Benny Johnson's podcast, "Benny Show". Carr has expressed gratitude towards Nexstar for pulling "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" from its broadcast.

However, it's important to note that the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk has not been identified as a MAGA supporter. This allegation has been criticized for appearing to be made by Kimmel.

The FCC's lone Democrat, Anna Gomez, has criticized the Administration for using government power to suppress lawful expression. She warned against surrendering the right to speak freely and eroding individual liberty. Gomez stated that an inexcusable act of political violence by one disturbed individual must never be exploited as justification for broader censorship or control.

Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar's broadcasting division, stated that continuing to give Kimmel a broadcast platform is not in the public interest at the current time. ABC has also taken "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" off the air indefinitely.

Carr has threatened to take action to remove the licenses from ABC affiliates who aired the show. It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold in the coming days.
