"I didn't really contribute to the goal," Draisaitl humbly admitted. But MC David's preparation was "world-class," he added, calling the move a sheer stroke of luck that worked out in their favor.
The Oilers had several opportunities to seal the deal during regular time but couldn't quite get their groove on. After squandering a 3:1 lead in the second period, they managed to recover and make their moves count in OT.
With this victory, Edmonton now leads the series 2-0, and the next game is at home. Draisaitl is confident but vigilant: "We have to keep the pressure on," he said.
In fact, the reigning champions have been doing just that when it comes to deciding games. Over the last six games, Edmonton's goal difference in the final third and overtime has been an impressive 15:3, with a shooting advantage of +28. Goalie Calvin Pickard is, needless to say, on a roll. With a save percentage of 95.4 percent, he's proving to be a formidable force for the Golden Knights.
The itinerary for the remaining games looks like this: Sunday night at the Rogers Place. Edmonton is excited to go home with the 2-0 score advantage, but they know the Golden Knights will still give it their all.
