Professional golfer Woad from England starts her career at the age of 21 on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.

In a remarkable turn of events, Lottie Woad, the 21-year-old amateur golfer from Farnham, has made history by becoming the first player to secure LPGA Tour membership through the Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP) program.

Wood's journey began earlier this year when she made headlines by becoming the first amateur to win a Ladies European Tour event in three years. Her remarkable six-stroke margin at the KPMG Women's Irish Open at Carton House in Ireland, with a score of 21-under par, marked a significant milestone in her career.

Following her victory, Woad continued to impress at the 2025 Evian Championship, where she held her own against top-ranked players like Nelly Korda before ultimately finishing tied for third. This result further solidified her position as a force to be reckoned with in the golfing world.

As Wood prepares for her professional debut, she is scheduled to make her first appearance at the Women's Scottish Open, which takes place at Dundonald Links from July 24-27, 2023. She has also confirmed her participation in the Women's British Open, the final major of the year, at Royal Porthcawl in Wales from July 31 to August 3.

Wood's decision to turn professional was announced on social media on July 10, 2023. In her post, she expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunities that have come her way. "I am very excited to announce that I've decided to turn professional," she wrote. "I'm delighted to have secured a @LPGA card through the LEAP. I'm also happy to accept membership of the @LETgolf for 2026."

Wood's impressive performances have earned her the title of the current world amateur number one. Her victory at the KPMG Women's Irish Open and her third-place finish at the Evian Championship have secured her a spot in the LPGA for the remainder of 2025 and all of 2026.

While the details of Wood's LPGA schedule for the rest of the season are yet to be confirmed, one thing is certain: this young golfer is set to make a significant impact on the professional circuit. With her talent, determination, and unyielding spirit, Lottie Woad is poised to redefine the boundaries of women's golf.

In her social media announcement, Lottie Woad confirmed her intention to participate in the LPGA Tour, mentioning her membership through the Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP) program. During her amateur career, her impressive performances also included victories in Ladies European Tour events, such as the KPMG Women's Irish Open, where she played golf exceptionally well and earned a score of 21-under par.
