Tommy Fleetwood Remains on the Hunt for His First PGA Tour Win

After a close call at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship, Tommy Fleetwood is still searching for his maiden PGA Tour victory. Despite some impressive performances, Fleetwood has yet to claim the top spot in a PGA Tour event[1][2][3].

In the recent Nexo Open, Fleetwood was tied for second place, one stroke behind Scotland's Grant Forrest, who currently leads the tournament with a score of 7-under-par 137[6]. Fleetwood's second round score was a strong 64, with seven birdies and one bogey, but he was overtaken in the final round, finishing as runner-up[1][4].

The bogey came on the finishing hole where Fleetwood's drive found a fairway bunker[7]. Despite this setback, Fleetwood remains optimistic about his chances, stating that he has been playing well off the tee, with good iron play and putting[8]. He expressed confidence in his game, acknowledging that he is "getting close" to his first PGA Tour win but still has not secured it[2][3][5].

Meanwhile, in the Irish Challenge on the Hotelplanner Tour, Matt Sharpstene holds a one-stroke lead with a score of 7-under-par 137[9]. On the Ladies European Tour, Laura Fuenfstueck and Alexandra Swayne share the first round lead with scores of 6-under-par 67 in the PIF London tournament[10]. Annabel Wilson is the best of the Irish players in the PIF London tournament, tied in 15th place with a score of 71[10].

In the Nexo Open, Jonny Caldwell is best of the Irish players, tied in 17th place with a score of 142[4]. Alex Maguire, Robert Moran, Liam Nolan, Max Kennedy, Paul McBride, Jack Madden, and Liam Grehan are all tied in 57th place with a score of 145[4]. Conor Purcell, the only Irish player in the Nexo Open field, is in tied-25th with a score of 145[4].

Fleetwood's last tournament was the Travelers Championship, where he agonizingly lost to Keegan Bradley[11]. Despite the setbacks, Fleetwood remains determined and motivated, eager to secure his first PGA Tour win.
