Professional cricketer Wasim Akram under investigation for promoting a gambling application
Breaking News: Cybercrime Complaint Filed Against Cricket Legend Wasim Akram
In a surprising turn of events, a cybercrime complaint has been lodged against the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Wasim Akram. The complaint, raised by Muhammad Fiaz and submitted to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), alleges that Akram endorsed an online betting app called Baji, which has been promoted by both Akram and TikToker and YouTuber, Saad-ur-Rehman, also known as Ducky Bhai.
Saad-ur-Rehman was arrested on Saturday for promoting the same betting app as Wasim Akram. A poster circulating on social media has led many viewers to turn to the illegal betting app due to Akram's promotion. However, it's important to note that the online betting app in question is called Baji.
In an interview with Telecom Asia Sport, Wasim Akram expressed his admiration for Mohammed Siraj's performance in test cricket. Akram mentioned that Siraj's performance was marked by hunger, passion, remarkable stamina, and mental strength. He also believed that Siraj is no longer just a support bowler, but is leading the attack with heart. These comments were made in a context separate from the cybercrime allegations against him.
Wasim Akram has not yet shared any public statement regarding the cybercrime complaint. NCCIA investigators said they will take action against Akram if the allegations are found to be true. The complaint was lodged under the Electronics Crime Act of 2016.
The NCCIA investigation is still ongoing, and strict action will be taken if the allegations are found to be true. Meanwhile, Akram is accused of endorsing an online betting app called Baji, a claim that he has yet to address publicly.
This development comes as a shock to the cricket world, and it remains to be seen how this will unfold. Stay tuned for more updates on this evolving story.
