Procedure Initiated for Adopting New Regulations on Guarding Individuals' Privacy and Nature

On a sunny afternoon on April 7, 2025, police officers in Gelsenkirchen conducted a speed check on "Ostring" street in the Buer district. The aim was to ensure road safety and maintain law and order.

During the two-hour operation, from 11:15 AM to 1:30 PM, a total of 21 speeding violations were detected. Among these, one driver, a 21-year-old from Hagen, was found to be exceeding the speed limit by a significant margin. After deducting the tolerance, the young driver was attributed an excess speed of 62 km/h.

The speed limit outside built-up areas in Gelsenkirchen is 50 km/h. The young driver, during the speed check, was found to be in the probationary period. This offense, as per the legislator, results in a fine of 600 euros and a two-month driving ban.

One of the main causes of accidents, according to the police in Gelsenkirchen, is excessive speed. The police warn that excessive speed can lead to serious traffic accidents. They advise drivers to drive carefully, anticipatorily, and adaptively.

Despite the enforcement, there is no information available about the young driver caught by police on April 7, 2025, on "Ostring" street in Gelsenkirchen's Buer district exceeding the speed limit by 62 km/h and still being in the probationary period.

Officers issued 13 warning fines and initiated 8 administrative offense proceedings during the speed check. The police in Gelsenkirchen will continue to monitor traffic throughout the city, even beyond the control week.

Interestingly, the fastest driver of the day was also the one who was fined. The 21-year-old from Hagen was recorded at 116 km/h, far above the speed limit. The incident serves as a reminder for all drivers to respect the speed limits and drive responsibly for the safety of everyone on the road.
