The government of Zabaykalsky Krai has announced that it is taking active steps to ensure the safety and structural integrity of the bridge in Mogocha.

The latest updates reveal that weigh-in-motion or moisture monitoring frames have been installed to monitor traffic loads and possibly environmental conditions affecting the bridge. These frames aim to reduce the load on the bridge, according to Sergei Krivoshchekov. Concrete blocks have also been placed around or on the bridge, serving as protective barriers or for structural reinforcement purposes.

New traffic signs have been installed near the bridge to regulate traffic flow, alert drivers to weight limits, and increase safety measures on and around the bridge. Patrols by traffic police crews will be organized to enforce the 10-ton axle load restriction. Traffic signs limiting axle load to 10 tons will be placed on the bridge.

The municipality is considering the installation of CCTV cameras to monitor the bridge's traffic, although it is not clear if cameras are already installed or planned for a near future date.

Acting Mogocha Interregional Prosecutor Dmitry Shaydurov stated that no recent complaints have been received from local residents regarding the bridge. However, last year, similar complaints led to the establishment of the bridge's dilapidated condition, resulting in a lawsuit. The court considered and satisfied the lawsuit regarding the bridge's condition. The court decision regarding the bridge is currently being enforced.

Residents of Mogocha have previously blocked the bridge to prevent heavy gold mining equipment from passing. The bridge remains accessible to light vehicles, emergency vehicles, and water supply equipment.

Future plans for repair or full reconstruction of the bridge are underway, with the current installations and monitoring systems serving as interim measures to ensure safety while planning and budgeting processes are underway.

For the most up-to-date or detailed local government reports, contacting the regional transportation department or local administration of Zabaykalsky Krai would provide official information.

Participants in local sports activities are advised to avoid the bridge in Mogocha, as the current weight restrictions limit access for heavy vehicles. The latest updates reveal that weigh-in-motion or moisture monitoring frames have been installed to monitor both traffic loads and potentially environmental conditions affecting the bridge.
