Pro-economic group endorses anti-AfD protest set for Saturday

In a significant development, the Economic Association has expressed its support for a rally planned against the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, scheduled for Saturday at 5 PM on the Herbert-Wehner-Platz in Harburg's city center. The chairwoman of the Economic Association, Franziska Wedemann, will also be attending the demonstration.

Wedemann, in her capacity as the head of the Economic Association, continues to oppose the far-right tendencies and the AfD. She has been vocal about her opposition to the "detached from reality" visions of those who advocate for mass deportation of people with a migration background from Germany.

The rally is seen as important by Wedemann, who believes that current politics frustrates many people and increases the likelihood of voting for the AfD. She emphasises that politics should prioritize taking care of the social groups responsible for the prosperity of the country.

In a monthly event held by the Economic Association, Wedemann spoke about the importance of demonstrations but stressed that they cannot correct the mistakes of politics. She further added that the game is not won in the stands, but on the pitch, implying that significant change should happen within the political system.

The event, which took place at the Privathotel Lindtner, also saw the presence of Prof. Dr. Stefan May from the Quirin Private Bank as the guest speaker.

Wedemann is also affiliated with the organization "Waterkant." She supports the demonstration in Harburg and has expressed her concerns about the rise of far-right tendencies in German politics.

The Economic Association, as an organisation, advocates for an open, tolerant, international, multicultural society and has been a vocal critic of the AfD's policies. They believe that such demonstrations are crucial in combating the tolerance and support of far-right tendencies.

It should be noted that no new information about a meeting with party officials and members of the far-right Identitarian Movement was provided in this article. The Economic Association and Franziska Wedemann have not commented on any such meeting.
