Leonid Yarmysh, Navalny's associate, claimed that authorities had dropped the power supply excuse for their silence on Navalny's location. On Monday, guards revealed that the Putin foe was no longer in the Vladimir region camp east of Moscow. However, no sign of life had been seen from the incarcerated activist for a week. His lawyer, Alexei Tsvetkov, confirmed last Tuesday as the last time they crossed paths, and since then, information about Navalny's whereabouts has been scarce. Tsvetkov did not rule out the possibility of a transfer to another facility.
Navalny's wife, Julija, shared her concern on Instagram. She noted that her husband was not connected to the Kovrov hearing via video, hinting at his unknown whereabouts.
US Demands Release and Blames Russia
US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller urged for Navalny's immediate release while condemning the Russian government for his plight. Moscow's Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov fired back, accusing the US of meddling in internal Russian affairs and refusing to comment on Navalny's whereabouts. He dismissed allegations of following prison subjects, stating they lacked the capability or intention to do so.
