Priscilla Presley discloses intimate aspects of her relationship with Rob Kardashian
In her memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, Priscilla Presley shares intimate details of her life after the King of Rock 'n' Roll. One of the lesser-known stories involves her relationship with Robert Kardashian, the late attorney and father of the modern-day Kardashian-Jenner clan.
Their romance began shortly after Priscilla's divorce from Elvis Presley in 1973. For about a year, they dated, and Robert Kardashian, who was known for his kindness, proposed to Priscilla. However, she declined, confessing she wasn't ready to marry again.
Priscilla recalls a night when she tiptoed down the hall to the guest bedroom to listen to Elvis on the phone, avoiding waking Robert, who was a sound sleeper. She admits that if Elvis had known Robert was in her bedroom, he might have reacted negatively.
Their goals and aspirations, it seems, were not aligned. Robert wanted to settle down, but Priscilla was still navigating her newfound independence. This disparity led to their eventual breakup.
Robert Kardashian soon remarried, tying the knot with Kris Jenner. Priscilla, on the other hand, did not speak much about her relationship with Robert in her book.
Years later, in 2003, Priscilla had a final conversation with Robert before his passing. This conversation was facilitated by his daughter, Kim Kardashian, who showed great care in bringing the two together.
Despite the end of their relationship, Priscilla remembers Robert with great affection. She often speaks highly of him, calling him 'the kindest of men.' Their friendship continued even after they parted ways, a testament to the bond they shared.
Elvis Presley, too, plays a role in this narrative. Priscilla reveals that Elvis was known to carry a loaded gun, sometimes more than one. Yet, even in the midst of such turbulence, Priscilla's memories of Elvis remain complex and deeply personal.
