A Peek into Princess Ines' Baptism: Palace Unveils Genuine Photos

Official Photos Unveiled from Princess Ines' Baptism Ceremony at the Palace - Princess Ines' Baptismal Ceremony: Released Photos

Curious to see how the Swedish royal family recently celebrated Princess Ines' baptism? The palace has graced us with three official snaps of the ceremony, available on Instagram! For the photos, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, along with their brood, were perched on a cozy sofa.

The first photo captures the family, with an adorable Princess Ines sleeping peacefully in her mother's arms. It marked her inaugural official photoshoot at four months old. The dapper princes - Prince Gabriel, Prince Julian, and Prince Alexander - were dressed in light suits, with Prince Carl Philip nestled between Julian and Alexander. Aww-worthy moment: Carl Philip held hands with Julian in the image.

In the second snap, the royal family mingled with Queen Silvia, King Carl Gustaf, Sofia's parents Marie and Erik Hellqvist. The third photo showcased the royal family with their godparents. Besides Princess Estelle, who is the 13-year-old daughter of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, the quartet includes:

  1. Frederik von der Esch, a childhood friend and lawyer of Prince Carl Philip,
  2. Claes Kockum, a schoolmate of Carl Philip, and
  3. His wife Sandrine Kockum, as well as
  4. Tiara Larsson, a friend of Princess Sofia.

Notably, Julian was drawn towards his father's lap in the third photo; instead of sitting next to him, he opted for a cuddle.

A Historical Mark: Ines' Baptism on the Tenth Anniversary of Her Parents' Wedding

The baptism of Princess Ines was an event filled with significance, as the royal family gathered to celebrate the occasion. Among the attendants were Princess Madeleine and her brood, as well as Sofia's sisters Sara and Lina Hellqvist. The special day took place at the Drottningholm Palace Chapel, which, intriguingly enough, was the same location where ten years ago, on June 13, Sofia and Carl Philip exchanged their vows. Consequently, the emotional ballad "Till mitt sista andetag" ("Until my last breath") was played at the ceremony's onset, a melody that holds a special place in the couple's hearts. Sofia penned the lyrics and music herself.
