A Fresh Take on the Royal Drink Saga

Prince William humorously mentions that he needs to appreciate a thoughtful present before his children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, can claim it for themselves.

Every year, glimpses of Prince George, Charlotte, and Louis are a rarity, making every mild detail about them that much more riveting. The latest morsel happened during a visit to the Duchy of Cornwall, where this time, the future King got his hands on a bottle of home-grown apple juice.

Becoming Duke of Cornwall after Charles III's ascent in 2022, William tries to visit a part of the sprawling Duchy every four to six weeks. These visits are usually secretive, but this time, Kensington Palace granted The Telegraph an invite for a "Duchy Day" in May.

After a visit to an orchard, the Duke was gifted a bottle of fresh apple juice—a delightful present that apparently he joked he'd "have to drink before" the kids could lay their hands on it.

Prince George reportedly has a keen fondness for apple juice, with the Princess of Wales once referring to him as "obsessed" with certain homemade batches. In 2023, radio host Roman Kemp shared that George's mom, Shirlie, presented the Princess with a "crate" of their homemade apple juice during a home visit.

Kate and Roman later teamed up for a short film about mental well-being, with the gift evidently going down well at Adelaide Cottage. According to Kemp, Shirlie and Kate have been swapping batches ever since.

Fast forward two years, and William's jest about the apple juice suggests that George might not be the only one with an intense affection for the apple brew in the Wales family.

Although William's comment was playful, it hints that the little royals would waste no time downing the present if they had the chance. As of now, they are wrapping up their half-term break, a time when the Prince and Princess of Wales typically pause public engagements to spend as much quality time as possible with their children.

Prince Charles's "Duchy Day" visit happened around mid-May, if The Telegraph's account is accurate. He's aiming to be a "positive force for good" and "make people's lives better" rather than just another traditional landowner.

"The heart of the Duchy revolves around its people... what it symbolizes," he stated. "The vital aspect of the Duchy for me is about social impact. People, places, and planet, those are the key aspects we're focusing on."

  1. The family's affection for the apple juice seems to be a shared appreciation, as William's playful comment suggests that Prince George might not be the only one enjoying the home-grown brew in the Wales family.
  2. Apart from their fascination with apple juice, the well-being of their family is a priority for the royal family, as seen when Kate Middleton collaborated with radio host Roman Kemp on a short film about mental well-being.
  3. Prince Charles, as the Duke of Cornwall, believes in using the Duchy as a platform forgood, focusing on people, places, and planet, emphasizing the importance of social impact and beauty in all his endeavors.
