Timeless Symphonies: A Delve into the Captivating World of Classic Music - "Prince Singer's Track 'Klosical' - Unprecedented Symphony"

From the bustling streets of London to the vibrant city of Halle, the new musical by Prince singer Tobias Künzel (60) takes center stage. "Death on the Throne - The Loosical" premiered in the British capital at the end of March, and is now performing its German counterpart, "Tod auf dem Thron - Das Klosical".

Künzel teamed up with British co-author Mark Underwood to pen this musical extravaganza. Künzel's passion for musicals stretches back, with "Das Klosical" being his sixth creation.

In "Tod auf dem Thron", Künzel and Underwood present an eccentric fusion of influential figures from recent history, bringing them together on one quirky stage. Notable characters include The Queen, Margaret Thatcher, Elvis Presley, and Erich Honecker. Two actors, four puppeteers, and a live band bring this unique production to life. Künzel even sits behind the drums, adding to the show's energy.

The inspiration behind the peculiar title struck Künzel in a most unexpected place. He already knew Mark Underwood from their rehearsals of another musical. "We became closer and headed to the pub, and after the third round, we decided to write a musical. I had just come from the bathroom and said, 'It's going to be a Loosical.' "

To adapt the piece for the German stage, it needed translation. Künzel addressed the challenge: "English is undeniably easier when it comes to music, it's just more melodious. German has a harder, guttural quality to it. But the German version contains jokes that the English one doesn't," the artist explained. "And when Mark attends the premiere, he'll be taken aback by the moments that the audience finds hilarious."

In spite of the challenging translation process from English to German, the musical adaptation includes new jokes specifically catered to a German audience.
