Veterans Share War Stories - Prince Harry honours Canada’s veterans in emotional Toronto visit ahead of Remembrance Day

Prince Harry recently visited Toronto to honour and engage with veterans ahead of Remembrance Day. The trip was facilitated by the True Patriot Love Foundation, a Canadian charity dedicated to supporting military personnel, veterans, and their families.

At the Veterans Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Prince Harry spent time with veterans of World War II and the Korean War. He exchanged stories with the likes of Brenda Reid, a 101-year-old veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy, who offered him some sage advice: 'You can’t always believe the boys.'

The centre supports over 300 veterans, helping them live as independently as possible. Prince Harry also met with reservists from the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada and the Royal Regiment of Canada during his stay in Toronto. His visit included exploring an art therapy program used by veterans to process traumatic memories through creative expression.

Prince Harry's visit to Toronto was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by veterans. Through his interactions with Brenda Reid, Harold Toth, and other veterans, he gained valuable insights into their experiences. The True Patriot Love Foundation played a crucial role in organizing this visit, allowing Prince Harry to connect with and honour those who have served.
